Oral Hygiene
Good brushing is essential when braces are fitted. You will be shown correct brushing techniques when the braces are fitted.
Points to remember:
Use the end-tufted brush to get under the wire and around the brackets/tubes and gums. Secondly, use the orthodontic soft brush with a small amount of toothpaste for the general tooth cleaning. Place bristles where gum and teeth meet. Use a circular motion around the gum line – spend about 10 seconds on each tooth. Do not hesitate to ask us if you need further cleaning instructions. Additional brushes are available for purchase at our reception. A fluoride mouthwash or tooth mouse may be beneficial to prevent tooth decay.
